Newcastle are one of three Premier League teams interested in signing Anderlecht winger Frank Acheampong, according to Belgian newspaper DH.

The report claims that Bournemouth and Watford are also after the 5ft 5in wide man as the summer transfer window approaches, but Hull will lose out following their relegation to the Championship.

Speaking to the BBC earlier this week, the 23-year-old revealed English sides had been in contact with him over a possible move, as well as stating that it his dream to play in the Premier League.

“It’s everybody’s dream to play in the English Premier League,” said Acheampong. “It’s my dream, it’s my first priority.

“A few clubs in England have been in touch but I cannot say anything right now.”

Known for his electrifying pace and quick feet from out wide, Anderlecht’s number 18 has played a pivotal part in helping his side hold aloft the Jupiler League title this season.

Acheampong scored six times and also provided his side with five assists throughout the campaign, during his 47 league and cup outings.

The former Buriram United star, who can play at left-back or on either wing, starred in Anderlecht’s Europa League campaign and played every single minute of his side’s two-legged loss to Manchester United.

Now, Rafa Benitez could look to bring the pocket-sized attacker to St. James’ Park in the summer, as he looks set to lose wingers Yoann Gouffran and Sammy Ameobi whose contracts expire on June 30.

However, it remains to be seen how much the former Liverpool boss will have to part with in order to bring Acheampong to Tyneside, as he still has two years remaining on his current contract in Belgium.
