Huddersfield manager David Wagner wants to keep goalkeeper Danny Ward next season, but is also interested in Liverpool trio Ryan Kent, Sheyi Ojo and Joe Gomez, according to a Liverpool Echo report.

The newspaper claims Wagner is a “big admirer” of Kent, who has starred on loan at Barnsley this term, while Ojo and Gomez will also “attract interest” from the Yorkshire club if Klopp lets them go out on loan.

It is said the German boss hopes to use his friendship with Reds manager Jurgen Klopp to bring in some young Merseyside talent to reinforce his squad ahead of their Premier League campaign next term.

The Terriers won promotion to the English top-flight on Monday as they beat Reading on penalties.

Kent, 20, was a mainstay in Barnsley’s midfield this term, making 44 Championship appearances, scoring three goals and supplying three assists.

He was utilised in a number of positions while at the Tykes, playing on both wings and as a secondary striker.

Meanwhile, Ojo stayed at Anfield this season, where he was used sparingly by Klopp – making only two appearances for the club in the FA Cup.

However, the 19-year-old did star for the Reds’ Under-23s, scoring three goals in seven Premier League 2 games.

Gomez’s 2016/17 campaign was ravaged as an achilles problem ruled him out until November, meaning he was only able to feature three times for Liverpool’s first team – also in the FA Cup.
