Liverpool-born West Ham left-back Aaron Cresswell has told that he favours the Reds over Everton in a question and answer session.

The 27-year-old defender has emerged as one of the Hammers’ stars after joining from Ipswich in the summer of 2014 for a £3.75million deal.

He has gone on to play in 124 matches for the east London club and has even earned himself a cap for the senior England team.

Now, both Liverpool and Everton have been credited with interest in the past, but Cresswell has picked the Reds when asked to choose the two Merseyside clubs on West Ham’s official Twitter account while also reaffirming his Liverpool allegiance by choosing Steven Gerrard over Frank Lampard and Kenny Dalglish ahead of Kevin Keegan.

Liverpool are reportedly on the lookout for a new left-back this summer with James Milner regularly playing out of position last season due to the defensive frailties of Alberto Moreno.

However, Cresswell was also out of sorts for West Ham in the last campaign and he is unlikely to be on the radar of manager Jurgen Klopp this time around.

Both Merseyside teams will be competing in Europe next season with Everton in the Eruopa League, while Liverpool will be in the Champions league and they will also be aiming to push further in the Premier League table.
