Tottenham are the bookmakers favourites to sign Fulham wonderkid Ryan Sessegnon this summer despite speculation Liverpool have already opened talks to sign him.
Paddy Power have priced the 17-year-old at 6/4 to make the move to Wembley Stadium before August 31, while Premier League rivals Liverpool (3/1) and Everton (8/1) also in the running.
Sky Sports Italy correspondent Gianluca Di Marzio had claimed last week on his personal website that Liverpool had opened negotiations with Fulham over a potential deal for the left-back.
The Sun, meanwhile, have reported that Tottenham are hoping to beat Liverpool to his signature, but have yet to begin negotiations with the player or his current club.
But despite Liverpool having reportedly opened negotiations in the race to sign Sessegnon, it is Tottenham that are still considered the favourites.
Sessegnon has become one of the hottest properties on the market ahead of the summer, after an impressive breakthrough season at Craven Cottage last term.
The teenager, who turned 17 last week, contributed seven goals and four assists from 30 appearances in all competitions as Fulham qualified for the Championship play-off semi finals.
However, Fulham were defeated 2-1 by rivals Reading over the two-legged tie, and their continued presence in the second tier could see the club lose Sessegnon to a higher power.
The wonderkid has yet to sign a professional deal at the club, and the Premier League appears the logical next step for the highly-rated performer.
Although primarily a left-back, Sessegnon is also capable at performing in a left-wing role, which will be viewed favourably by Premier League bosses.
