Brazil manager Tite has claimed Liverpool ace Philippe Coutinho would be an “ideal” signing for Barcelona.

Tite has named the 24-year-old in his squad 11 times since he became Brazil boss last summer, meaning he has now amassed 23 caps for his national side, scoring six goals.

When asked if the Catalan giants should make a move to sign the Reds’ playmaker by Spanish media outlet Sport, the manager responded: “Yes. Absolutely yes.

“I don’t want to be pretentious and give an opinion on Barca, but who wouldn’t want a player like Coutinho?

“That magic, that capacity to invent and create something, that change of rhythm, the way he builds play. He is the ideal player for Barca. ”

Despite picking up an ankle injury mid-way through the campaign, Coutinho was still one of Liverpool’s top performers in the 2016/17 season.

He made 36 appearances in all competitions, scoring 14 goals and supplying nine assists.

His contributions were also crucial to the Reds’ eventual fourth-place finish, as he bagged three of his goals in the side’s final two Premier League games.

Since arriving at Anfield in January 2013 for £8.5million from Inter Milan, Coutinho has gone on to become one of the club’s best players.

He has played 181 league and cup games in his four-and-a-half seasons with the club and has scored 42 goals in that time, as well as providing 37 assists.

His performances have seen his reputation grow and Sport claimed earlier this month that Barcelona were looking to bring the Brazilian to the Nou Camp.

However Coutinho did respond to the speculation assuring the Anfield faithful that he was committed to the club and is under contract until 2022.
