Liverpool are clear favourites to sign West Ham defender Aaron Creswell, according to the latest betting odds.

Leading bookmaker Sky Bet have priced the 27-year-old at 9/4 to make a switch to the Merseyside club before September 3 – Liverpool are the only club on the betting list to sign him.

The Hammers defender, who returned from a long-term knee injury in October, recently earned a call-up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad.

The Three Lions will take part in a World Cup qualifier against rivals Scotland next month which will be followed up by an international friendly against France.

Following his return from injury, Creswell initially struggled to return back to his best form before his performances started improving for Slaven Bilic’s side.

Liverpool-born Creswell has four-years left on his contract at the London Stadium, and when fit, he has been a regular member of the West Ham team.

During the penultimate match of the Premier League season, Creswell played at left-back for the Hammers as they were thrashed 4-0 at home to Liverpool, who have since gone on to secure Champions League football.

During that match, James Milner played on the left-hand side of the defence, with Jurgen Klopp opting to play the Englishmen ahead of Alberto Moreno.

Milner has regularly featured at left-back for the Reds this term and with European football around the corner, Klopp could be tempted to add another player in that position.
