Everton are ready to offer Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney £150,000-a-week in a bid to entice him to the club this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper reports that the 31-year-old England international has received two offers from Chinese clubs worth £50million over a two-year period and Rooney has already discussed the possibility of moving to Asia with his family.

The Mail also claims that Everton are prepared to offer Rooney a package worth £7.8million-a-year, an offer that is substantially below what he is currently earning at Manchester United and does not compare to the £480,000-a-week deal offered from the Chinese clubs.

Recently, Rooney came out to address his current situation and revealed that he has received offers from home and abroad but he still has not made a decision.

“There are lots of offers on the table, both in England and abroad, and really that’s what I have to decide on,” he told the Daily Mail.

‘I just have to make a decision in terms of football, and that’s what I’ll do. I’ll do that in the next few weeks with my family.

Rooney lifted his third trophy this season on Wednesday night as Manchester United defeated Ajax in the Europa League final.

Ever since Jose Mourinho became the Manchester United boss at the start of the season, Rooney has not had much influence on the team as he has spent the majority of the campaign on the substitutes’ bench.

Rooney became Manchester United’s all-time goalscorer this season and he has scored a total of 253 goals for the club.
