Arsene Wenger is set to announce on Wednesday that he is staying at the Emirates Stadium for at least two more years, according to BBC Sport.

The news was broken on the official BBC Sport twitter account on Tuesday morning.

The report claims that the 67-year-old manager spoke with the owner of the club, Stan Kroenke, about his future on Monday and both men sat down to discuss the decision with the Arsenal board on Tuesday morning.

The BBC are reporting that the club will make an official statement on Wednesday.

The Arsenal boss will sign a new deal that will see him stay at the Emirates Stadium until 2019.

Arsene Wenger has just come off the back of more FA Cup success as Arsenal won the trophy for a record 12th time as they beat Premier League champions Chelsea 2-1 on the weekend  at Wembley Stadium.

The Frenchman now stands alone as the most successful manager in the competition’s history, winning the trophy with the same club for the seventh time.

Wenger is the most successful manager in Arsenal’s history as he’s won three Premier League titles along with his cup success.

He will be taken charge of the club for the 21st consecutive year next season but it will be his first without Champions League football as the Gunners finished in fifth position in the Premier League.

His future has been the catalyst for a huge rift in the club’s fanbase, with a section of the support wanting him to leave.

However, even the #WengerOut brigade will be glad that the saga is finally set to end – and the news will be a massive boost to the club as they can finally start planning for next season, and attract new players in the summer.
