Arsenal fan Piers Morgan has promised that he will never tweet about Arsene Wenger again after he signed a new contract with the club.

The Premier League side confirmed on their official website on Wednesday afternoon that the 67-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a new two-year deal.

Broadcaster Morgan has been very vocal about the club’s senior man on social media and his failure to guide his team to a title since 2004.

Over the course of the season, many supporters, including Morgan, have called for Wenger to step down from his managerial post with the club enduring a miserable campaign.

When the news broke that the Frenchman will continue his 21-year reign at the club, Morgan was clearly deflated by the announcement.

“As promised, I will now never tweet about Wenger again.” Morgan wrote on his personal Twitter account. “It’s over.”

Wenger joined Arsenal in 1996, helping them win numerous trophies, including going an entire season unbeaten during the 2003/04 Premier League campaign.

Added with that, for the first time during his tenure, the Gunners finished outside of the Champions League places which means they will be playing Europa League football next term.

Arsenal finished one point behind fourth-placed Liverpool, but the London club did go on to win the FA Cup last Saturday at Wembley.

Wenger’s side beat Premier League champions Chelsea 2-1 in the capital, the seventh time the highly-criticised boss has lifted the trophy and the eleventh time Arsenal have won the trophy in their history.
