Lukas Podolski has sent his congratulations to Arsenal on Twitter after their FA Cup win against Chelsea before teasing the Gunners’ London rivals on Twitter.

The north London giants secured a 2-1 victory and the club’s 13th FA Cup victory thanks to goals from Alexis Sanchez and Aaron Ramsey, which proved too much for 10-man Chelsea who found the back of the net through Diego Costa.

Posting on his personal Twitter account, the former Arsenal star will have riled Chelsea and Tottenham fans by claiming “London is red” following his old side’s triumph.

Arsenal finished fifth in the Premier League this season, three places behind Spurs and four behind Chelsea, but do have more silverware to show than Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Sanchez scored controversially in the first half, after appearing to handle the ball before lashing home from close range. Costa then equalised with an effort that goalkeeper David Opsina should have kept out.

But just moments later, Aaron Ramsey headed home an inch-perfect cross from Aaron Ramsey after the Blues had been reduced to 10 men as Victor Moses was shown a second yellow card for diving.

In what is Arsene Wenger’s seventh FA Cup triumph as a manager, the Gunners finished a disappointing season on a high after failing to qualify for the Champions League for the first time since 1995-96.

Podolski spent three years in north London after moving to Wenger’s side from Koln, making 82 league and cup appearance in which he scored 31 goals before moving on to Turkish outfit Galatasaray.
