Newcastle are reportedly set to move for Fulham midfielder Tom Cairney – and the club’s supporters have urged them to complete the deal on Twitter.
The Chronicle claim that Newcastle are set to return for the 26-year-old in the summer after showing interest in January.
It is understood that Fulham were demanding £20million for his signature in the last transfer window, but may now have to accept a smaller figure after failing to gain promotion through the play-offs.
The report details that Cairney is open to a move to St James’ Park as Rafael Benitez looks to rebuild his squad for the top flight.
Cairney has been a midfield goal machine this season and directly contributed to 25 for Fulham.
The attacking midfielder managed 13 goals and 12 assists for the Cottagers and played a major role in their push for promotion
Newcastle fans have backed a potential move for the Scotland international and feel he could be a great addition to their squad.

Newcastle have several midfield options in their squad including the likes of Jonjo Shelvey, Matt Ritchie, Mohamed Diame and Jack Colback.
Cairney predominantly plays in the number 10 role, but can also be deployed as a winger or a more traditntal central midfielder.
He has enjoyed a fantastic season at Craven Cottage and been one of the outstanding talents in the Championship.
Newcastle have already experienced first hand the qualities of the midfielder as he inspired Fulham to a 3-1 win at St James’ Park in March, where he managed to get on the scoresheet and control the game.
