Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has raved about Tottenham’s success this season and paid credit to their squad.

Spurs have managed to secure a second-placed finish in the Premier League table and put up the best title challenge to champions Chelsea.

The north London club managed to finish ahead of both Manchester clubs, despite both of them receiving huge financial backing and recruiting high profile managers in the summer.

Mauricio Pochettino has managed to keep improving at Spurs and they finished their last ever season at White Hart Lane unbeaten at home.

Man City boss Guardiola has spoken highly about his league rivals Chelsea and Tottenham, in particular highlighting the strength of squad.

“Chelsea have played amazing – consistent, clinical in the box, solid – and Tottenham have been amazing, too” Guardiola told Sky Sports. “They are a beautiful squad, a huge squad, which I love.”

Spurs have made more improvements this season and are now looking forward to their temporary switch to Wembley Stadium next season.

They have managed to stay at the top-end of the Premier League table and also got to an FA Cup semi-final in the domestic cups.

Pochettino has built a formidable squad since his arrival and has strong cover in most areas of the pitch.

Kyle Walker and Danny Rose are regarded as the club’s two first-choice full-backs, but Kieran Trippier and Ben Davies have proved their worth by stepping in superbly.

Meanwhile, the likes of Mousa Dembele and Heung-Min Son have not always been an automatic selection in the starting XI, highlighting the tough battle for positions.

However, Spurs did fail considerably in Europe as they were dumped out of both the Champions League and Europa League.

Pochettino may be looking for some extra attacking options in the summer to support Harry Kane as they look to establish themselves as a force in English football.
