Michy Batshuayi has dropped a hint on Twitter that Monaco defender Benjamin Mendy should join him at Chelsea in the summer, but Tottenham are also reportedly interested in the sensation.

Chelsea striker Batshuayi, who is an active user on Twitter, retweeted a post from a fan claiming that Mendy should make the switch to Stamford Bridge next season.

The request comes shortly after the Blues wrapped up their fifth Premier League title and Batshuayi scored the decisive goal in a 1-0 win over West Brom.

Mendy has become a much sought-after player after his performances for Monaco this season, who were a breath of fresh air in their journey to the Champions League semi-finals.

The Sun reported in April that Spurs and Manchester United are both interested in signing the 22-year-old, with the former tracking him this season.

He has been in great form for Monaco this campaign and is on the brink of winning the Ligue 1 title ahead of giants Paris Saint-Germain.

Mendy has been an ever-present in the starting XI this season and made 38 appearances across all competitions.

The full-back has been particularly impressive going forward and has managed an incredible 11 assists, with four of them coming in the Champions League.

Several of Monaco’s young exciting side are expected to move on to become future stars and Mendy is certainly one of the players to catch the eye.

The introduction of the wing-backs for both Chelsea and Spurs this season would see the Frenchman be an ideal fit for them, but United are also keen on his signature.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side may now be in greater need of a new left-back as Sky Sports reported on Tuesday that senior defender Danny Rose is expected to miss the start of next season after undergoing knee surgery.
