Manchester United have been linked with an interest in Alexis Sanchez.
According to a report in the Daily Mail a Chilean TV show has claimed that the Arsenal forward has been phoned by Jose Mourinho.
Arsene Wenger is adamant that Sanchez will not be sold to an English rival but the future of the Frenchman remains unclear.
Should Arsenal changed their mind it seems likely that Chelsea would be favourites to sign the striker after his comments about how much he enjoys living in London.
United are far from certain to be playing in next season’s Champions League but if they do qualify moving for Sanchez would be an obvious choice.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has still to commit himself to a second season while Wayne Rooney seems a certainty to quit Old Trafford.
That would leave United looking to find a strike force from scratch but as they showed with Paul Pogba and Ibrahimovic money won’t be an obstacle to providing Mourinho with the players that he wants.
