Crystal Palace are preparing an end of season bid for Mamadou Sakho.

According to a report in The Independent Sam Allardyce is pushing to try and convert the current loan deal into a permanent move.

Sakho has played in Palace’s last four matches and while his form has helped the team take 12 points it has also alerted other teams to his availability and pushed up the defenders value.

Despite Liverpool’s need for central defenders there is no prospect of Sakho returning to first team duties at Anfield after falling out with Jurgen Klopp during Liverpool’s pre-season trip to the United States.

Southampton and AC Milan have been linked with an interest in the former Paris St Germain defender.

Liverpool found no takers at £25m during the January transfer window but with Sakho’s form for Palace they are hopeful of getting that fee in the close season and use the money to reinforce their own defence.
