Everton back in for Sigurdsson

|

Everton will renew their interest in Gylfi Sigurdsson at the end of the season.

According to a report in The Times Ronald Koeman has made signing the Swansea forward a priority with the futures of Ross Barkley and Romelu Lukaku still to be decided.

Everton tried to sign Sigurdsson last summer but after an unhappy spell at Spurs the Icelandic internationalist was settled and enjoying his football with the Welsh side.

Despite Swansea’s battle against relegation the 27-year-old has scored eight times and managed to detach himself from the struggles of his club.

West Ham have also been linked with a move for Sigurdsson but with Everton pushing for a Champions League place next season Koeman is hoping to convince the Swansea man to move to Goodison.

Swansea will be forced into selling if they get relegated but are likely to struggle to keep the ambitious forward after three seasons at the club.
