Manchester City have been linked with a move for Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

According to a report in The Sun the Barcelona keeper is the latest name to be considered to fill City’s problem position.

The German is in his first season as first choice keeper at the Nou Camp and is highly rated by Pep Guardiola and his backroom staff.

Guardiola has lost faith in Claudio Bravo and Willy Caballero while there is no way back for Joe Hart who has impressed a number of clubs out on loan at Torino.

City aren’t prepared to take a chance on an emerging keeper and want to ensure they have someone ready to go the distance in the Champions League.

Ter Stegen has that pedigree and quality but City will have to write out a massive cheque to get Barca to consider selling the 24-year-old German that they signed in 2014 from Borussia Monchengladbach.
