Micky Gray believes that Manchester City and Manchester United would be mad not to make a move for Jack Wilshere.

Speaking on talkSPORT the former Sunderland defender has urged the big two to make the England midfielder a priority summer signing.

With just over a year left on his contract Wilshere is still to have any meaningful negotiations with Arsenal about extending his current deal.

It seems that contract talks with Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez are taking priority with Wilshere, who came through the ranks at The Emirates of secondary importance.

Jack Wilshere is good enough to play in any of those top six sides,” Gray claimed.

Pep Guardiola is known to be an admirer of the 25-year-old after impressing against Barcelona in the Champions League.

Arsene Wenger has gone on record to state that Sanchez won’t be sold to an English rival but it remains to be seen whether Arsenal would do business with a title rival for Wilshere.

Despite doubts over his fitness Wilshere has been a regular in the Bournemouth team.
