Arsenal are ready to bid for Idrissa Gueye who only joined Everton last summer from Aston Villa.
According to a report in The Sun the 27-year-old is wanted to add variety and bite to the Arsenal midfield.
Gueye spent a season at Villa but despite relegation did enough to impress Ronald Koeman to take him to Goodison.
Now Everton are in a similar position and face a hostile bid from Arsenal for the midfielder as Ronald Koeman attempts to build his own side.
Arsenal have been criticised for the lack of balance in their side with most of their midfielders being of the creative type.
Bringing in a Patrick Veira type enforcer has been a priority for many supporters with Gueye appearing to fit the bill.
This season the former Villa man has started 22 of Everton’s 28 Premier League matches and also appeared in one game as a substitute.
