Liverpool keen on Real’s Rodriguez

|

Liverpool are ready to bid for James Rodriguez.

According to a report in the Daily Star Jurgen Klopp will be able to match the €50m fee that Real Madrid want for the striker.

Rodriguez has failed to rediscover his World Cup form for Real but that hasn’t put other clubs off showing interest in the Columbian.

Klopp is looking for additional firepower to compliment Sadio Mane and believes that Rodriguez would quickly fit into the style of football that he wants to see Liverpool playing.

Key to the deal would be the opportunity of playing Champions League football which players like Rodriguez will expect.

Finishing in the top four will make Liverpool a transformed proposition for signing targets with Klopp well aware of how that tournament can transform the image of a club.

Liverpool could recoup a large part of the fee by selling Daniel Sturridge who is attracting interest from England as well as Paris St Germain and Juventus.
