Everton move for Simeone Jnr

|

Everton are considering making a bid for Giovanni Simeone.

According to a report in The Sun the Genoa striker is being viewed as a replacement for Romelu Lukaku who seems certain to be sold in the summer.

Simeone, the son of Atletico Madrid boss Diego, has scored 10 times in his debut season in Serie A despite his club sitting third bottom of the table.

Everton have been scouting extensively across Europe for emerging talent and were already interested in Simeone before Lukaku broke off talks about extending his Goodison contract.

Ronald Koeman has attempted to gloss over the issue in the hope of seeing the season out but a £60m transfer is expected in the summer.

With Diego Costa and Alexis Sanchez also angling for moves there will be plenty of strikers on the move with Koeman hoping that he can bring Simeone to Everton before other club’s show interest in the young Argentinian.
