Everton are ready to rival Spurs for the signing of Ryan Sessegnon.

According to a report in The Mirror, Everton’s Director of Football, Steve Walsh watched the teenager at the weekend as Fulham beat Preston North End 3-1 to strengthen their play-off hopes.

At 16 years of age Sessegnon has broken into the Fulham side that is chasing a play-off place and earning rave reviews.

Tottenham have long been regarded as favourites to sign the teenager but Everton have upped their game and looking to compete at every level in the transfer market.

Sessegnon is still on a youth contract and could leave Craven Cottage for a token fee with Fulham hoping to negotiate a deal that would see him return on loan next season.

The teenager has come through the ranks at Fulham with the Championship side recognised as one of the best clubs in the country for nurturing young talent.
