Crystal Palace have stepped up their interest in Lionel Carole.
According to a report on talkSPORT the Galatasaray defender is available for £6m after the London side made an initial offer of £3m.
The French defender is in his second season with the Turkish side and is open to the possibility of moving to the Premier League.
Sam Allardyce had a difficult time during the January transfer window but has managed to put together a run of results that has taken Palace out of the relegation places.
Carole is a recognised left-back but can also play in central defence with Palace looking for options in both of those areas.
At £6m there is little risk involved in signing Carole with the equivalent player in England costing twice that fee, in January Palace paid Sunderland £14m to secure Patrick van Annholt.
Carole had a short spell with Benfica early in his career but after returning to France to play with Troyes he has found form in Turkey at Galatasaray.
