Arsenal are considering a summer move for Rui Patricio.
According to a report in The Sun the Sporting Lisbon keeper is being considered as a replacement for Petr Cech.
Patricio is in his ninth season as first choice keeper for Sporting and should be available for around £15m.
After an impressive first season for Arsenal questions have been asked about Cech this season with David Ospina selected for Champions League matches.
At 29-years-old Patricio is at the peek of his powers and could provide a solution for the next five seasons.
Despite the uncertainty over the future of Arsene Wenger Arsenal are pushing ahead with signing targets with a younger but experienced keeper one of their transfer priorities.
Cech is under contract until 2019 with Arsenal happy to retain the former Chelsea keeper, who will be 35 in May, as back up to their new first choice. Ospina is expected to move on in the summer to find first team football.
