Sunderland are considering a £2m bid for Jason Cummings.

According to a report in The Herald the Hibs striker has impressed Davie Moyes into preparing an end of season bid.

Cummings is the leading scorer in the Scottish Championship and was the subject of a £1m plus bid from Peterborough at the start of the season.

Moyes is making two sets of plans for the end of the season dependent on which division Sunderland are in- and also that he retains his job at the Stadium of Light.

The goals of Cummings have been one of the main features of Hibs drive for promotion but there have also been disciplinary issues and fall outs with Neil Lennon.

Moyes recently watched the 22-year-old in action against Dundee United where he scored the only goal of the game then got sent off for a comical hand-ball that led to a second yellow card.

Lennon would prefer to hold on to the striker with Hibs looking certain for promotion but after three seasons out of the top flight the Edinburgh side wouldn’t be able to turn down a £2m bid.
