Liverpool are weighing up a summer move for Pedro Obiang.

According to a report in The Sun, the form of the West Ham midfielder has been brought to the attention of Jurgen Klopp who is expected to make big changes in the summer.

West Ham paid Sampdoria just over £4m for Obiang in 2015 and would be looking for five times that figure if they sell the Spaniard in the summer.

Obiang has quietly made his mark this season displaying a consistency of performance despite West Ham’s inconsistent form.

Klopp has been concerned about the lack of depth in his squad and is hopeful of being involved in next season’s Champions League.

To cope with the increased demands additional bodies are required with Anfield scouts believing that Obiang is capable of playing in the Champions League.

West Ham will be reluctant to sell the player who will be 25 next month but with two years left on his contract may decide to cash in rather than get involved in drawn out negotiations for a new deal with Liverpool looking on.
