Rose rejects China deal

|

Danny Rose turned down an incredible £14.5m/year deal to move to China that would have netted Spurs a £38m transfer fee.

According to a report in The Sun the 26-year-old was in line to take home a £285,000 weekly windfall after tax if he had taken up the offer from Shanghai SIPG who are managed by Andre Villas-Boas.

So far the Chinese attack on the Premier League has failed to attract anyone in the prime of their career but with that sort of money on offer it can only be a matter of time before a current England internationalist says yes.

Rose has been a key part of Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs side and signed a new five year contract in September.

Spurs have been very pro-active in dealing with contracts snapping up the bulk of their current squad onto long term deals.

Rose has made 18 Premier League appearances for Spurs this season.
