Manchester United had an £85m bid for Tomas Muller rejected last summer.
According to a report in The Mirror, Bayern Munich rejected the bid which would have been the second only to the Paul Pogba deal that United did with Juventus.
Muller has been a long term target for a number of United managers with Jose Mourinho given the go ahead in the summer to bid for the striker.
Ironically for Bayern Muller has had a nightmare season with the Bundesliga giants scoring just one goal as Robert Lewandowski takes the limelight and bags the goals.
A partnership of Muller and Zlatan Ibrahomovic would certainly have been interesting but it’s well known that the star Swede likes to be viewed as the main man.
With doubts over the status of Ibrahimovic’s contract renewal it could open the door for United to revisit the Muller offer which Bayern may look more favourably on.
