Liverpool deal in Lallana

|

Liverpool are set to reward Adam Lallana with a long term deal that will more than double his wages.

According to a report in the Daily Mail the attacking midfielder is close to agreeing a new contract that will keep him at Anfield until 2021.

Lallana had an indifferent time at Liverpool after moving from Southampton in a £25m deal after the 2014 World Cup but has been a major influence on the side since Jurgen Klopp took charge.

Before Christmas Philippe Countinho was given a new contract with the deal for Lallana helping Klopp put his stamp on the team.

Liverpool have found it difficult competing at the top end of the transfer market with Klopp determined to reward and retain the players already at Anfield.

Lallana was recently voted England’s Player of the Year for 2016 and was linked with moves to Paris St Germain and Barcelona during the January transfer window.
