Spurs are set to join the battle to sign Harry Maguire.

According to a report in the Daily Star the Hull defender will be the centre of a three way battle with Everton and Southampton already in the queue.

Maguire has been in outstanding form for Hull this season despite their struggle to beat the drop.

The 23-year-old has stepped up from playing in the Championship with relative ease despite the problems that Hull have faced.

Steve Bruce’s resignation gave the club little time to prepare for life in the top flight while the January transfers of Robert Snodgrass and Jake Livermore further reduced their survival odds.

Everton were the first club to show an interest in Maguire but will find it difficult to match the footballing side of an offer from Spurs.

The possibility of European football plus playing alongside half a dozen England internationalists will be difficult for Everton to match up with.

Southampton are likely to be looking for a replacement for Virgil van Dijk in the summer but like Everton will struggle to compete with the package put together by Spurs.
