Arsenal and Chelsea have joined the race to sign Henry Onyekuru.

According to a report in The Daily Mail the Eupen striker has attracted the attention of the London clubs after scoring 12 goals in 26 matches for the Belgian side.

Celtic were strongly linked with Onyekuru during the January transfer window but won’t be able to compete with the fee that Eupen can pick up from a Premier League club.

At one stage during the January transfer window the 19-year-old refused to train or play for Eupen in protest at what he believed was attempts to transfer him to CSKA Moscow and RB Leipzig.

A peace deal was negotiated on the understanding that Onyekuru would be transferred during the summer with the striker responding with the only goal of the game away to Gent shortly after returning to the side.

With no caps for Nigeria Onyekuru would need a work permit but a £6m fee for a 19-year-old should see the Nigerian qualify to play in the UK.
