Steven N’Zonzi has given Manchester City and Chelsea the green light by turning down a contract extension from Sevilla.

According to a report in The Sun the former Stoke City midfielder has a £25m get out clause in his current deal which has sparked interest from a number of English clubs and also Juventus.

N’Zonzi is under contract until 2019 but after refusing a new contract that would have increased his get out clause to £50m it looks like his days at Sevilla are numbered.

The 28-year-old left Stoke for Sevilla in a £7m deal in 2015 but has blossomed in La Liga with Seville third in the table and still involved in the Champions League.

Manchester City and Chelsea are both looking to strengthen their midfield options with N’Zonzi unlikely to require any settling in time to adjust to English football after spending six years at Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City.
