Arsenal look like losing out to Real Madrid in the hunt for Andre Silva.

According to a report in The Sun the Porto striker seems certain to head to Spain despite Arsenal’s interest.

Arsenal were preparing a £25m bid for Silva but it seems that Real are about to offer twice as much.

The news come on the back or claims from Italy that Torino have turned down a £56m bid for Andrea Belotti.

Arsenal’s increased interest in bringing in a new striker suggests that they aren’t confident of retaining Alexis Sanchez.

The Chilean striker has 18 months left on his current deal but there appears to be little progress being made towards a new deal.

Sanchez is believed to be looking for close to £300,000/week to stay on but is also concerned about the Gunners inability to challenge for major honours.

As they look at the cost of a replacement it seems more likely that matching Sanchez’s personal demands could be the most cost effective option.
