Liverpool and Spurs will rival Valencia for the signing of Javier Hernandez from Bayer Leverkusen.

According to a report in The Mirror the former Manchester United striker seems certain to be on the move next month with Valencia prepared to match the £33m get out clause in the Mexican’s contract.

A move to Anfield would certainly create a storm with Hernandez still warmly regarded by Manchester United fans after five years of faithful service.

Lois van Gaal brought his United career to a halt in August 2015 with Leverkusen picking up a £7.5m bargain.

Liverpool and Spurs are both expected to be in the market for strikers net month with Hernandez fitting the bill for both clubs.

Jurgen Klopp is preparing for the possible departure of Daniel Sturridge while Mauricio Pochettino is still looking for extra options to Harry Kane in attack.

Despite sitting in fourth bottom place in La Liga Valencia have identified Hernandez as the man to take them clear of the drop and are willing to pay over £30m to get their man.
