Everton have made an enquiry to West Brom about the availability of Saido Berahino.

According to a report in The Daily Mail Ronald Koeman is looking to bring in a striker capable of hitting the ground running to help Romelu Lukaku with the scoring burden.

Berahino is out of contract at the end of the season but due to his age Everton would have to pay a development fee for the striker who was named in England squads by Roy Hodgson.

In 2015 Berahino had a spectacular fall out with West Brom after they rejected a £20m offer from Spurs with the striker stating on social media that he’d never play again for Baggie chairman Jeremy Peace.

While that issue was resolved Berahino has never recaptured his form and has had a terse relationship with Tony Pullis.

A move to Everton would seem to suit all parties involved but is likely to be complicated by West Brom’s transfer fee demand.

Everton are expected to be one of the busiest clubs during the transfer window with Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk at the top of Koeman’s wanted list.
