Chelsea have entered the complex transfer tangle around Alexis Sanchez.

According to a report in The Mirror the current Premier League leaders are ready to launch a bid at the end of the season to create a strike force of Sanchez and Diego Costa.

News of Chelsea’s interest will add to Arsenal’s concerns over the striker’s future in a week in which it was claimed that he was phoned by Pep Guardiola and has a £400,000/week offer on the table from China.

Sanchez has 18 months left on his current deal with no signs of progress from talks about a new contract.

Arsenal are believed to be very reluctant to go beyond £200,000/week while the Sanchez camp are looking for closer to £300,000/week to earn parity with the biggest earners at Manchester United and Manchester City.

The dilemma for Arsenal is whether they make an exception for Sanchez, and probably Mesut Ozil, or stand their ground, lose a proven striker then try to find a replacement within the current wage structure.
