Arsenal face competition from Barcelona and Juventus for the signing of Dayot Upamecano from Red Bull Salzburg.
According to a report in The Express the defender is attracting attention from some of the biggest clubs in Europe after just 21 matches for the Austrian side.
Arsenal’s scouting set up is the envy of many with an emphasis on spotting and bringing players under 21 to The Emirates.
Upamecano joined Red Bull from French side Valenciennes last June in a £2m deal and was instantly sent out on loan to FC Liefering before being given his chance in the Red Bull first team this season.
Arsenal have tracked the 18-year-old since he was at Valenciennes and will test the Austrian side’s resolve with a January bid.
Upamecano is under contract with Red Bull until June 2018 but has shown in the past that he isn’t afraid to make big decisions for the benefit of his career.
