Having failed with an €8 million bid to sign him in the summer, West Ham United have re-entered negotiations to sign Lyon winger Rachid Ghezzal for next season, report HITC.
According to French source Foot 365, Slaven Bilic’s Hammers have already planned further talks with the Algerian international in January whereby the 24-year-old is free to talk to other clubs with his contract running down.
With Ghezzal’s current contract expiring at the end of the 2016/17 campaign, West Ham United could land the winger on a free transfer in the summer.
The London Stadium side seemingly won’t have a clear run at signing Ghezzal however with London rivals Tottenham also reported to be in negotiations for the Algerian’s signature.
With Gokhan Tore, Sofiane Feghouli and Andre Ayew all yet to hit the ground running in their West Ham United careers, perhaps Bilic is thinking about providing some new competition in the form of Ghezzal.
Making a total of 13 appearances across all competitions for Bruno Genesio’s Lyon so far this term, Ghezzal boasts a record of one goal and three assists to date.
