Having announced his departure from LA Galaxy this week, Celtic winger Scott Sinclair hopes that Steven Gerrard will decide to move to Celtic Park this winter, report ESPN FC.
Linked with a player / coaches’ return at Liverpool, Celtic have also been one of the first names linked with Gerrard considering Brendan Rodgers used to manage him at Anfield.
With Bhoys boss Rodgers remaining tight lipped over the Gerrard speculation, Hoops midfielder Sinclair was more receptive about the prospect.
The former Swansea City winger claimed: “It’s be a massive thing. If he did come here that would be unbelievable,” he said. “I think the fans would take to him. It would be a massive deal in football.”
Making 34 Major League Soccer appearances in his time with LA Galaxy, Gerrard only managed five goals in a challenging spell in the United States.
A lesser known point is the fact that Gerrard boasts a lot of respect for Celtic with ex-Bhoy Andy Lynch having recently told the Daily Record that the Liverpool legend is a supporter of the Scottish giants.
