Manchester United have been warned that they won’t get it all their own way if they put in a bid for Victor Lindelof of Benfica.

According to a report in the Daily Mail Chelsea and Juventus are among a number of clubs keeping an eye on the 22-year-old Swedish defender.

Jose Mourinho has identified Lindelof as the ideal type of defender to build his side around with a £20m bid likely to succeed.

The Mail reported the players agent Hasan Cetinkaya telling Swedish website Fotbollskanalen: “I don’t want to comment on various clubs but there is concrete interest from some of the biggest in Europe.

”Vigge’ really enjoys it at Benfica, at the same time, as I have said before, there is no smoke without fire when it comes to that many clubs are interested in him, but Victor is focused on Benfica.”

In agent-speak that message sounds like a classic ‘come and get me plea’ ahead of the January transfer window.

Lindelof started his career in Sweden with Vasteras before moving to Benfica in 2012 with the Lisbon side having strong links throughout Scandinavia.

The 22-year-old has won 11 full caps and played in all three group matches at France 2016, impressing although Sweden finished bottom of Group E.
