Laurent Koscielny is refusing to get too upset by Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Paris St Germain which looks certain to see the Gunners finish in second spot in Champions League Group A.

When the draw for the last 16 is made next month Arsene Wenger’s team will be paired against one of the group winners while PSG will play one of the group runners-up.

Bayern Munich will definitely finish as one of the runners-up and will be joined in that part of the draw by either Real Madrid or Borussia Dortmund from Group F.

Looking at the prospect of Arsenal finishing second in their group Koscielny told Arsenal player: “We have a lot of big teams in this competition now and a lot of great teams finish second, so it’s difficult to know,.

We will see what happens in the draw but first we have to finish the job well. They have a game against Ludogorets and we are playing Basel, so we will see. We want to finish first because then our second leg will be at home, so we want to win our last game to give us the best chance of finishing first.”

Before last night’s match Wenger had made it clear how much he wanted his side to win and send out a statement to the continent about his side’s intentions.

Arsenal and PSG are tied at the top of the group going into the final match but with a superior head-to-head due to the away goals rule a home win over Ludogorets will be enough to see PSG through regardless of how well Arsenal do away to Basel.
