Currently on a season-long loan at Schalke, Nabil Bentaleb featured in the best select even for matchday seven in Germany with the Algerian international scoring in The Miners’ 1-1 draw with Augbsurg on Saturday.
Actually opening the scoring for Markus Weinzierl’s men in the 65th minute, his goal was later cancelled out by Daniel Baier but there’s no doubting Bentaleb’s loan spell is proving extremely successful right now.
Starting six of Schalke’s seven Bundesliga fixtures thus far, Bentaleb appears a fundamental cog in the plans of the Veltins Arena-based side at the minute.
While it remains to be seen whether he can force his way back into Spurs’ midfield given the heavy competition at White Hart Lane right now, there is no denying he is trying his best out on loan.
With Eric Dier struggling for regular game time in central midfield at the minute, Bentaleb’s job will prove a tough ask but flourishing at Schalke, you’d imagine the German cub may be interested in a permanent deal if he continues to impress.
