He missed the start of the season through injury but now back in the side, former Hammer Kevin Nolan has claimed Aaron Cresswell is a “massive” player for West Ham United, report HITC.

Speaking to the Alan Brazil Breakfast Show on talkSPORT this morning, Nolan believes West Ham United’s recent upturn in fortunes is partly down to Cresswell’s return from injury.

“Cresswell is a massive player for them,” claimed the former West Ham captain.

“To play 90 minutes on Wednesday, when he hasn’t done much game time, just shows the great lengths the medical staff go through to get the boys back. He was ready to play, and he did really well.”

Picked up from Ipswich Town for just £3.75 million in July 2014, Cresswell has been a model of consistency in his time at Upton Park and now the London Stadium.

Making 76 Premier League appearances for West Ham United so far, Cresswell was an ever-present under Sam Allardyce in 2014/15 and similarly throughout last season under Slaven Bilic.

Now 26-years-old, Cresswell still somewhat surprisingly awaits England recognition with the former Tranmere Rovers full back still yet to make any Three Lions squad.
