He’s only been a bit-part player under Zinedine Zidane so far this season and Arsenal and Tottenham are both monitoring the situation of Real Madrid’s Isco, report the Daily Star.

According to Spanish sourceĀ Diario Madridista, both the Gunners and Spurs are willing to bid for the Spanish international should Real Madrid decide not to offer him a new contract.

Despite starting Real Madrid’s most recent outing against Eibar, the Spanish international has only been an impact or unused substitute prior to last weekend’s game.

With his contract running out in 2018, Los Blancos are still yet to prove forthcoming in securing the future of the former Malaga midfielder.

The player himself spoke to Marca recently claiming: “The truth is that I have not yet thought about it, nor have they asked me to renew, so I am calm. I take it day by day, which is important.

“It seems a little weird [that Real haven’t spoken about it yet], but I can’t do anything.

“If they don’t want me to renew, I won’t go asking for it. It’s something for the club to decide, not me.”

With Toni Kroos and Luka Modric holding down Real Madrid’s midfield as Zinedine Zidane’s preferred duo right now, both Arsenal and Tottenham will be watching developments to see if he grows tired of playing second fiddle.
