He was interested in signing him during his Chelsea spell and now, Jose Mourinho may attempt to re-sign Genk’s Jamaican winger Leon Bailey at Manchester United, report Manchester Evening News.

According to the publication, Red Devils scouts have been sent to run the rule over the 19-year-old winger who has captured the imagination with five goals in 10 outings for Belgian outfit Genk so far this season.

Bailey was previously on Chelsea’s transfer radar but a move broke down amidst talk of the Jamaican Under-23 international being immediately loaned out to Royal Excel Mouscron.

A versatile player who can is equally adept on both the left and right wing, Bailey is currently enjoying Europa League football with the Belgian side sitting top of Group F following matchday two.

The player is clearly somebody on the rise with Bailey having been awarded the Young Player of the Year prize in Belgium last season, not to mention being nominated for the Golden Boy award only last week.

Considering fellow nominees include the likes of Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman and Manchester United’s very own Marcus Rashford, this tells you a lot about the teenagers’ high potential.
