They may have signed plenty of ready-made reinforcements in the summer but a long-term prospect Manchester United are interested in signing is Valencia’s Fran Villalba, report El Desmarque.

The Valencia-based source claims the Red Devils are keen on landing the 18-year-old striker but must meet his release clause which currently stands at just €4 million.

Despite Manchester United’s interest, the Spanish forward is still determined to remain at Mestalla but is waiting to see just how much of a first team fixture he is under new manager Cesare Prandelli.

In interesting circumstances, it was actually Manchester United legend Gary Neville who gave Villalba his Valencia debut in December 2015 whereby the teenager made a cameo from the bench in a Copa del Rey victory over Barakaldo CF.

A Spanish Under-19 international to boot, Manchester United aren’t the only club monitoring Villalba’s progress closely with Barcelona also keeping tabs on the situation according to the report.
