No sign of improved performances from Wayne Rooney
Having sat out Manchester United’s recent fixtures after Jose Mourinho initially relegated Wayne Rooney to the bench against Leicester City, it’s most certainly been a lowly period in the career of the England captain.
Seeing United take Leicester City apart 4-1 in the first game after he was dropped, Red Devils supporters were left wondering whether Manchester United are just more of a well-rounded outfit without Rooney in the side.
Having witnessed Rooney’s retreat from the centre forwards’ position to more of a deeper role over the past couple of years, the common theme is that the former Everton man’s performances have gotten worse and worse.
Suffering from a massive loss in confidence right now, it’s difficult to see where Rooney can pick it up from again goal-wise with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcus Rashford holding down their striking duties right now.
