He’s struggled for regular starting opportunities at Liverpool this season but Divock Origi has played down suggestions he could join Juventus in January, report the Daily Star.

With the Belgian international having only started against both Burton Albion and Derby County in the EFL Cup so far this season, the 21-year-old is willing to bide his time under Jurgen Klopp.

Speaking to journalist Kristof Terreur recently, Origi claimed: “Have I been linked to Juventus? Never heard that one. It’s just a rumour.

“I’m fully focused on Liverpool. Klopp believes in me. He asked me to be patient and to stay calm.”

Italian source Calciomercato had previously linked Origi with a January switch to Serie A giants Juventus but with the player having now rubbished those reports, Liverpool fans can breathe easy about their squad depth up front.

With Daniel Sturridge also struggling for regular starting opportunities at Liverpool right now with Roberto Firmino the ideal centre forward at the minute, Origi will certainly have to fight hard to become a fixture.
