His stock has fallen in recent times but nevertheless, Liverpool are still keen on securing a January loan deal for Inter Milan midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, report The Express.

According to Web Calcio, the Reds are willing to pay the French international’s wages in full for the 23-year-old see out the 2016/17 campaign at Anfield.

Touted as one of the most exciting young midfield talents in all of Europe when joining Inter from Monaco in 2015, Kondogbia has been left out of Frank de Boer’s squad for the Nerazzurri’s past two fixtures.

Public in his criticism of Kondogbia, de Boer claimed: “We already talked about this and he makes the same mistakes often.

“We cannot accept that from players when we’ve told them many times already.”

Left out of Inter’s team since making a mistake in a 1-1 draw at Bologna in September, it appears Kondogbia is firmly out of the Serie A giants’ plans right now, giving hope to Liverpool’s intentions.

In many ways, Kondogbia might struggle for regular first team football at Anfield right now with a combination of Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum and Adam Lallana keeping out the likes of Emre Can at the minute.
