5 things we’ve learnt from the start of Everton’s season

|

Even Everton supporters won’t know how they threw away any chance of a point against Burnley on matchday nine but fortunately for Toffees fans, Ronald Koeman’s side responded well yesterday.

Beating a West Ham United side that have reached the last eight of the EFL Cup 2-0, the men from Goodison Park are currently placed sixth in the Premier League table on 18 points.

Having only lost two games so far, it’s been a solid start to life on Merseyside for Ronald Koeman who continues to underline the fact he’s one of the top managers around.

Goals from Romelu Lukaku (who else?) and Ross Barkley proved the difference against the Hammers yesterday afternoon and the latter’s goal was especially pleasing.

Despite being highly rated for a long time now, there have recently been calls over just how effective Barkley has been of late and you could tell in his goal celebration that his strike meant a lot.

Left out of the England squad since being named in Roy Hodgson’s Euro 2016 party, Barkley will now look to kick on but what else have we learnt from the Toffees’ 2016/17 campaign so far?
